Bernd Suster dobija otkaz posle utakmice sa Barsom

he beleaguered Spanish giants will allegedly oust their coach if they lose in el Clásico agianst arch rivals Barça in two weeks after another disappointing result on Saturday.

Bernd Schuster must turn Real Madrid's fortunes around in time for the trip to Barcelona in two weeks or those clamouring for him to be sacked will finally begiven their wish, according to a report.

The German trainer has been kept in place by president Ramón Calderón because he is not keen to rush to a decision when the team are still winning, however unconvincingly.

Now though he has been given a time limit as the pressure grows on the board and only avoiding defeat in el Clásico will extend his troubled stay at the Bernaéu, Sport state.

It is believed that Schuster will certainly not stay at the club beyond the end of this season, but with Calderón attracting more and more criticism,, the president is ready to do something.

Miguel Ángel Portugal, Madrid's technical director, would likely be given the reins until the end of the current campaign, given his experience in coaching, while the club look for a new boss.

Milan's Carlo Ancelotti is on the agenda and has been linked with the Spanish giants in the past, while Arsène Wenger may be offered the chance to build a dynasty if his problems at Arsenal grow.

After losing to Getafe at the weekend, Schuster did not endear himself to Madrid when stating that the defeat did not hurt, but it was his no-show at training on Sunday that puzzled onlookers again.

Now he has been told that a good result at Camp Nou is crucial, even though the team have to entertain Sevilla this weekend, or the club could head into the festive break with a new man at the helm.

Xavi potpiso novi ugovor sa Barsom

Following several weeks of speculation, the Blaugrana vice-captain will ink a new contract at Camp Nou this week and remain at the club for at least another six seasons.
Barcelona will recieve a boost at the start of the week when Xavi Hernández puts pen-to-paper on a new six-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2014.

The Blaugrana vice-captain was reported to have offers from other clubs and while there was no agreement with the Catalan outfit speculation mounted that he could be tempted away.

But those worries are over as both sides have now reached an agreement that will see the 28-year-old extend his stay at Camp Nou for another six seasons.

Interest from other teams was, arguably, being promoted by Xavi's agent to ensure that his client recieved the deal that he wanted - and the plan has been effective.

Early stories suggested that Barça had put forward a deal worth €7 million-per-year, while the player demanded €9 million, in order to make himself the second highest paid player at the club behind Lionel Messi.

Details of the lenth of the contract have emerged but whether Xavi has been granted the mega-deal that he wanted is unknown, although it was unrealistic to think that he would ever have really left.

“My dream is to retire at Barça. I have always said that I want to stay here. I have always felt comfortable and highly valued by the club. At no time have they said that they want to sell me," he told the media last month.

Laporta:Messi je najbolji na svetu

All the talk around footballing circles in recent times has been about the identity of the world's best player, and Joan Laporta has wasted no time in nailing his colours firmly to Lionel Messi's mast.

Speaking after the match, Laporta said, "He is the best in the world. He is the most decisive player."

The Barca supremo then went on to praise the rest of the team, saying, "Samuel Eto'o was so important in obtaining the victory. But all these individualities only shine when they play as a team. Despite the 3-0 scoreline, it was a very complicated victory, especially after such an even first half."

He then spoke of what it was like to be a supporter watching the match, stating, "It was very intense, as these kind of games always are."

Finally, Laporta calmed the nerves of Barca fans by assuring them that Xavi's renewed contract was a mere formality, saying, "He will continue at Barca for many years, and there are only a few small details remaining which are not going to complicate the renewal."

Luckily for Cristiano Ronaldo, Laporta does not get to vote for the winner of the Ballon D'Or.
